Am I Eligible?
I will help you determine if you qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy — a liquidation bankruptcy — based on your income and the Colorado’s means test.
Through Chapter 7, I can help you discharge debts such as:
- Credit card debt
- Medical bills
- Personal loans
- Utility bills
- Business debts
With the exception of a mortgage, student loans, recent taxes, and spousal and child support obligations from divorce, you can emerge from Chapter 7 debt-free — typically in less than six months.
If, as an individual, your income is too high to make you eligible for Chapter 7, I can also help you file for Chapter 13. This form of bankruptcy may also be a better option if you have significant assets that would not be protected under property exemptions.
Low Cost $899 Flat-Fee Bankruptcies for People with Lower Incomes.
At Rupp-Zimmerman Law, P.C., I understand that people with lower incomes cannot always afford the higher fees that some law firms charge to file your bankruptcy. However, Bankruptcy is intended to be of the greatest help to people with lower incomes – it is meant to help such people get a fresh start. Therefore, I choose to offer low-cost Chapter 7 Bankruptcies to people with low incomes and few assets. Although there are a few other limitations, you may qualify for an $899 Chapter 7 bankruptcy based on your current annual income (calculated by looking at the past six months) and household size. Currently, the income limits are as follows:
Household Size | Annual Household Income |
1 | $35,000 |
2 | $45,000 |
3 | $50,000 |
4 or more | $55,000 |
Chapter 7 for Businesses
If you set up your business as a sole proprietorship rather than a corporation or limited liability company, you are personally liable for the debts of your business.
If your business is in serious trouble, I can help you liquidate it through Chapter 7 or, in certain cases, through Chapter 11. For some businesses, reorganization under Chapter 11 may be a better option for retaining control of assets and operations.
As your lawyer, I provide personal attention and thorough representation. I will take the time to educate about your options so you can make informed decisions about your future.
